WOMEN CELL
Women cell of Andhra Mahila Sabha , Arts & Science College for Women act as catalyst for promoting inclusive development of women/girls of this college through various interactive sessions, workshops, awareness classes, Training classes, Field works etc. The cell is aimed for streamlining the talents and abilities of women for making them better personalities which will enable them to carry greater responsibilities in their future life. Every year Women publishes a handwritten magazine which portrays the creative skills and talents of women of this college.
Our college women cell is concentrating on creating awareness among young girl students on various aspects and facets of young girl’s lives. Apart from giving counseling to students our lecturers are taking much interest towards their overall development. Our college through women cell is focusing on several activities like debates elocutions on violence against women, women’s rights and opportunities.
Objectives of Women Cell
- To create an environment which promotes gender equity and self-reliance
- To conduct interactive sessions and seminars on academics and performance success program topics
- To organize community intervention activities or social engagement program topics
- To conduct gender awareness classes /welfare programmes for women
- To organize self défense / wellness training programmes
- To conduct cultural programmes like theme dance competition, street play, flash mob etc
Population Education Cell
According to UNESCO, “Population Education is an educational Programme which provides for a study of population situation of the family, community, nation and world with the purpose of developing in the students rational and responsible attitudes and behavior towards that situation”.
A need should be there for imparting factual knowledge about population dynamics so that the younger generation must understand the burden imposed by rapid population growth.
Objectives: Creates awareness among young students about the need for

- Spread the message of the National Population Policy
- To enable the students to understand that family size is
- Population limitation can facilitate the development of a higher quality of life in the nation

ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL
The objective of the programme is to encourage students for activities associated with entrepreneurship. The course will help in having the qualities that are needed to succeed as an entrepreneur.
This course will yield many women entrepreneurs and also in generating employment opportunities for others. It can also create gainful self-employment, students after successfully completing the course are able to take up job work and the main objective is “EARN WHILE YOU LEARN”. This course awakens and motivates students for establishing their own business with different idea.

Anti Ragging Cell
Aim and Objective of the Committee
As per Government initiative to prohibit “Ragging” in the Educational Institutions of all levels and hostels, the college has constituted Anti-Ragging Committee and started functioning since 2008-2009 with primary objective to prohibit ragging in the campus thus assuring a “Ragging Free Zone”.
To prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging including any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing or ill-treating fresher or any other student, or indulging in undisciplined activities by any student or students thereby affecting the psychological nature of the fellow students (new comers) and hence making them suffer physically, mentally and psychologically.
As a combat, the institution firmly emphasizes in instilling values through value education classes, arranges orientation programmes at the beginning of each academic year; timely counselling sessions organized by the class in-charges and sensitizing role plays for creating awareness by the student council members, which all cumulatively make constant effort in monitoring which is extended in making the campus and hostel vicinity a serene place, thereby contributing to the holistic development of the students.

The aim of the Student Grievance Policy is to provide a channel that enable student concerns to be addressed quickly, without fear of reprisal pertaining to the source of the concern as practicable. The Student grievance committee is committed to developing and maintaining an effective, timely, fair and equitable grievance handling system which is easily accessible to all complainants.

About Club
The Cultural Club of AMS Arts & science College for Women aims at helping the students to understand and accept themselves ‘as they are’ and helps the students to help themselves.
The main objective of the club is to bring about a voluntary change in the students.
For this purpose, the teachers and management provide facilities to achieve the desired changes or to make the suitable choices.
The objectives of the club are:-

Placement Cell
Andhra Mahila Sabha Arts & Sceicne College For The College not only imparts quality education but also ensures that the students secure suitable placements .The goal of Training & Placement Cell is to provide employment opportunities & training to students in leading organizations.
The placement cell coordinates well with the corporate sector and provides well-developed infrastructure to facilitate the various employability skill activities and campus selection programmes ensuring smooth functioning of the placement activities. The cell co-ordinates to train and prepare the students for placements, which is initiated with the various skill enhancement programmes with a motive to equip the students with the required Soft skills, Hard Skills and Life skills and making them fit for the prerequisites of the industry.

Aims and Objectives of Gandhi Satabdi Bhavan
Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh established Gandhi Satabdi Bhavan and the foundation stone was laid by shriVV Giri, former President of India on 6th April 1971. and it was inaugurated by the then governor of Andhra Pradesh Shri Khando bhai desai in place of Shri Jay Prakash Narayan. On 30.06.1972.
The building has portraits of Gandhiji with Dr.Durgabai Deshmukh and prominent leaders of freedom movement inside. Eminent personalities like the late Prime Minister Mrs.Indira Gandhi, Former President Sri VV Giri visited the building and distinguished personalities like Dr.B.N.Ganguly, Dr.Malcolm, S.Adiseshaiah, Sri swami Ranganadhananda( Rama Krishna Mission ) and Prominent freedom fighters of the Indian Independence Movement addressed the Gathering s in this building.

- Gandhi Satabdi Bhavan stands out as beacon light showing the right path to the future players and leaders of the country.

- It is a centre of study, research and teaching and action of morals and values with the inspiration of Mahatma.
- Meetings on Gandhian Studies are organized in Gandhi Shatabdi Bhavan on Second Friday of every month.
- Staff and students of various Departments of AMSASCW participate in this Meeting by taking up various programs like skits, Speeches, free verses, patriotic songs, related to a freedom struggle, social issues and lives of great personalities.
A few verses from spiritual books like Bhagavatageeta, Bible, Quran etc. are read out by the students. Also every meeting starts with a prayer and concludes with a bhajan Ram Dhun. (Raghupathi Raaghava Raja ram)
Every year all the sister institutions together conduct Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations and foundation day Lecture on 6th April. Martiers day is observed on 30th January, A homage is payed to Gandhiji by members of all institutions apart from regular meetings organized every month.
