Gandhi Satabdhi Bhavan

Aims and Objectives of Gandhi Satabdi Bhavan

Foundation and Inauguration:

Gandhi Satabdi Bhavan was established by Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh. The foundation stone was laid by Shri V. V. Giri, former President of India, on April 6, 1971, and it was inaugurated by Shri Khando Bhai Desai, then Governor of Andhra Pradesh, on June 30, 1972. The Bhavan houses portraits of Mahatma Gandhi alongside Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh and other prominent leaders of the Indian freedom movement. It has hosted eminent personalities, including former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and President V. V. Giri. Various freedom fighters and leaders, such as Dr. B.N. Ganguly, Dr. Malcolm, and Swami Ranganadhananda of the Ramakrishna Mission, have addressed gatherings here.
