About the Department

Vision

We try to create interest in the Hindi language and encourage students to use it properly. The department promotes poetry and story writing, and selected works are published in the annual magazine “Srujana”. As students come from different language backgrounds, we focus on giving more oral practice to reduce the influence of their mother tongue.

We encourage students to write poetry and stories to improve their writing skills. These are often published in the annual magazine “Srujana.” The department emphasizes oral practice to lessen the impact of students’ mother tongues, given the non-Hindi speaking backgrounds.

Innovative Ideas

• Introduction of translation studies in Hindi for second-year students under the ability enhancement programme since 2016.
• Organizes Prerna annual seminar.
• Celebrates Hindi Diwas on September 14th every year.
• Celebrates Premchand and Tulsi Jayanti in July every year.
• Plans to start a workshop on creative writing for creative learning (CWCL).

Programme Objectives (PO’s)

By learning Hindi, students can improve communication skills, which are vital for job prospects. Hindi literature also fosters creativity, intellectual skills, and curiosity. It allows students to enrich their careers and develop a deeper understanding of life.

Students gain knowledge in various styles of writing such as poetry, prose, novels, drama, and grammar. The curriculum covers both contemporary changes in society and historical comparisons, giving students a well-rounded education.

Students are encouraged to participate in various subject-related activities to enhance their skills. Some notable achievements include:

• • Sakina Begum won first prize in poetry recitation conducted by CLAP – 2020.
  • K. Madhuri participated in UNA-RUN organized by the 5th World Unani League.
  • K. Sravya volunteered in the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme organized by the Telangana Government.
  • Ms. Greeshma and Ms. Sumitra participated in Fete 2020 by setting up a food stall.
  • Kushi Gupta won first prize in an essay writing competition held as part of the college’s Golden Jubilee year celebrations.
