Breast Cancer Awareness

Theme

“Early Detection & Prevention of Breast Cancer”

 

Andhra Mahila Sabha Arts and Science College for women in collaboration with Department of Genetics ,University College of Science Osmania University organized “Community Outreach Program” Breast Cancer Awareness theme “Early Detection And Prevention Of Breast Cancer” on 22nd June 2023 MV Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

 

The chief guest for the program was Prof.M.Vijjulatha Incharge, Vice Chancellor, Telangana Mahila VishwaVidyalayam, Hyderabad and the Guest of honor was Dr Lopamudra Das Roy Founder and President of Breast Cancer Hub, USA. They both enlighten the participants on Breast cancer awareness and early detection with primary screening methods. Highlighted on detection test and the importance about mammography, 3D mammography and ultrasound etc.Risk factors associated with breast cancer, genetic inheritance, Prevention methods like regulation exercise, meditation, yoga & healthy habits etc

 

And the convener of the program is Prof.H. Surekha Rani ,Head, Department of genetics, Dr Jhansi Rani Principal of Andhra Mahila Sabha Arts and Science College , Coordinator -Dr Sandhya Assistant professor , Organizing Secretary Mrs P Sandhya Rani Assistant professor organizing committee members are Dr.Parameshwari,Ms.Jaya Madhuri,NSS Unit –I,II,III and the other distinguish guest attended the program are Dr. Rajani Secretary and Correspondent,  Sri.D. Chakrapani Chairman (Retired IAS), Prof. Jayashree Vice Principal University College of Science and other guest from university. Around more than 300 students have attended and participated the program. All sister institution of AMS have also participated.

Two day workshop on Dasa Sahitya and other Compositions

18th  & 19th June 2023 from 10.00 am to 5.00 Pm

College of Fine Arts & Media Education, in collaboration with AMS Arts & Science College for Women and Dasa Sahitha Project, TTD, organised a two-day free musical workshop on “DASA Sahithya and other Composition,” on 18th  & 19th June 2023 from 10.00 am to 5.00 Pm in MV Hall .

Dr. Suddala Ashok Teja , a prominent poet, best national lyric writer was the Chief Guest to the inaugural. Guest of Honour was Dr.GLK. Durga, vice president DDMS, and Special Guest was Shri. D. Chakrapani, Chairman, AMSASCW . The Chief Curator for the workshop was Smt. Ramya Praveena from Bangaluru . Around 300 aspirants in music attended the workshop . Smt .N. Usha Reddy, President DDMS (AMS ) and Dr. Lalitha Kameshwari, General secretary DDMS (AMS ) blessed the occasion.

9TH INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

Report on International Yoga Day

The college celebrated 9th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2023, in the college campus. The Department of Physical Education & 3 NSS Units of the college organized the program. The members present for program were  Dr. K. Karuna Devi, Academic Coordinator , Dr. P. Rajyalakshmi  IQAC Coordinator , Dr . M. Sridevi, HOD , Physical Education ,Dr. K. Kiranmai, Dr. J. Saritha, Mrs. B. Ramani ( NSS Program Officers),Dr. A. Pramila, Dr. Y. Vasundhara, Ms. Aliveni, Ms. Jaya Madhuri and Ms. Akhila, More than 50 students participated in the programme. The program started with lighting of the lamp and prayer (National Song ) . Dr. Sridevi, gave a brief report on International Yoga Day celebrations in our college . Dr. K. Karuna Devi and Dr. Rajyalakshmi gave their  message.

The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated across the world on June 21st since 2015 following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. The Indian prime minister Narendra Modi, in his UN address in rolls, had suggested the date of June 21, as it is the longest day of the year in Northern Hemisphere and Shares a special significance in many parts of the world. The theme for the year 2023 is “Yoga for Vasudhaika Kutumbam “ effectively encapsulating our collective aspiration for “ One Earth , One Family, and One Future” .

Miss Ashwani of B,Com(General) III rd Year & Yoga teacher took the yoga session. Miss Ashwani learnt yoga through our Certificate course offered by the Physical Education Department  and now she is trainer in our college. She made all the participants perform the Suryana Naskarams, Asanas. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr.J,Saritha, NSS programme officer.
